There has been some questions/concerns about students playing outside when it is cold. We follow the district policy if the temperature is 0 °F or below (including wind chill) recess will be inside the building. The decision on when school closes is rarely easy to determine. There are several factors that go into this decision. There are typically two weather conditions that create the need to close school. First is a blizzard with drifting snow that makes roads impassable for vehicles. The second are dangerously low temperatures, when the temperature drops below -20 °F. Several district employees begin driving the roads by 5 am to check the conditions, at 5:30 am, they have a conference call and review the weather conditions and then make the decision whether or not to cancel school. Parents will then be notified through PowerSchool starting at 6 am. School closures will also be sent to media outlets an posted on the District's Facebook page.
We might not have ALL the great teachers.....
But all the teachers we HAVE are great!!
